Follow The Three Golden Rules

“How you attract women will change with time, and that’s okay. Don’t define your self-worth by how many women you can get. 

Also, and I cannot stress this enough, do not let go of your peace for anyone, no matter how pretty.” Said one. 

“Wish I was told that sooner probably wouldn’t have listened though lol.” Another replied. 

Don’t Do Everything You ‘Can’

“Just because you can, it doesn’t mean you should.” Said one. 

“Underrated. I learned that most of us young people do most things just because we can and it feels good that we can, rather than overlooking the cost-benefit ratio. I recently learned to measure what benefits I get from doing everything I do and I can say I have seen a lot of improvement in preserving peace of mind and gaining more control of my life.

Learn To Breakup

“Learn to break up, so you don’t get kids with the wrong person.” Said one. 

“Yes. Thank you for saying this. I had so many guy friends who would stay in unhappy relationships and complain, cheat, etc. But wouldn’t break up because they said things like she isn’t doing anything wrong or they didn’t have a reason. Not being 100% into her is a valid reason.” Another added. 

Look For Compatibility, Not Beauty 

“No matter how pretty she is, if you are not compatible, it’s not going to work.” Said one. 

“This is spot on. I briefly dated a drop-dead gorgeous woman before I met my now fiancé. We were so attracted to each other physically & intimately but that was it. I tried so hard to make it work and seriously thought there was something wrong with me. The relationship just never had that spark to go to the next level. We both recognized this and agreed to part ways.” Another added.

Don’t Put Them On A Pedestal

“They’re just people like you. Even the most attractive girl has just as many insecurities and worries, and anxieties bouncing around in her head. Please don’t put them on a pedestal. Meet them on equal ground and actually try to get to know who they are, rather than focusing on what you **think** they are.”

Don’t Ignore The “Red Flags”

“Roughest, but the best line from Bojack Horseman: when you look at someone through rose-colored glasses, all the red flags just look like flags”

Some Of Them Just Don’t Want To Be Fixed

“Some girls (and boys too! This goes for young women) do not want to be saved. Do not go into it thinking you can fix them or heal them.”

Don’t Try To Be Perfect

“Don’t try to be perfect. If you can be relatively relaxed and not be weird; hold a conversation etc you’re already ahead of most guys.”

Figure Out Things Sooner

“Figure out how to date women ASAP. The longer you go with no experience the harder it becomes to get *any* experience.

I wish I’d been a lot braver back when everyone was still learning and making mistakes. Now I’m nearly 40 with the dating experience of an 8th grader – and boy am I lost.”

Don’t Make Them The Focal Point Of Your Life

“You can only experience loneliness if you don’t enjoy your own company.”

It’s ok to be alone on weekends. It’s ok to go for a run by yourself. Read a book by yourself. Cook a steak for yourself. A woman should compliment your life, not be a focal point.”

Don’t Settle For Less

“Society will tell you women have all of the power in the dating scene, that’s crazy! If you’re actually advancing your life and have your life together you’ll be a catch and won’t have to settle for anything or anyone.

Don’t feel like being a man means you have to accept less. Build a life and hobbies for yourself, and find a partner to join your life. Don’t be dependent on your partner for satisfaction.”
